After beginning his career in the George H.W. Bush White House, the former University of Michigan baseball player batted 1.000 in Virginia politics. As Northern Virginia field director for former Sen. John Warner (R-VA) and campaign manager for former Rep. Tom Davis (R-VA), Trey helped guide both to victory in their challenging re-election campaigns. Then, as campaign director for the battleground region of Northern Virginia, Trey played a big role in delivering the crucial part of the state for former Gov. Jim Gilmore’s (R-VA) winning campaign. He later rejoined Rep. Davis on Capitol Hill as his communications director, where he also oversaw the congressman’s election to a GOP leadership position. Trey’s communications work with the House Leadership was quickly recognized and led to his appointment as chief of staff to a high-ranking member of the House Committee on Appropriations and positioned him to contribute significantly to the expansion of the party’s House majority over two election cycles.
A regular contributor to ABC News Radio and a frequent commentator on Fox News Channel, MSNBC and CNBC, Trey is recognized by the media as a savvy campaign strategist with sharp political instincts and sophisticated communications skills. Comfortable in front of the camera and talking to the media, Trey is regularly sought after by C-suite executives for intense media training.
