Paving the Way for Wireless Broadband Approval at the FCC

Challenge: The decision to allow mobile wireless broadband in the 2.3 gigahertz band was stalled at the FCC with no final decision in sight. A leading investment company, which has ownership interest in this spectrum, enlisted the Podesta Group to build support on the Hill to prompt the FCC to take up the long-stalled decision.

Strategy: Devise a strategy to build support and cast a favorable light on the client among members of Congress whose constituents were underserved and would benefit from rapid deployment of mobile wireless broadband. Tap our aptitude in navigating the FCC and Capitol Hill to bridge the divide between regulators and legislators and force a timely decision for the client.

Result: The FCC approved wireless deployment in the 2.3 gigahertz spectrum on terms advantageous to the client.
