Achieving Transportation Successes
Our work with a transportation-related
trade association has kept us front and center for key decision-makers.
The Podesta Group successfully secured nearly $6 million
for their transportation projects, including Interstate Digital
Image Exchange, which would make it possible for states to
crack down on driver’s license fraud by sharing digital
images and verifying the identity of people applying for licenses.
Following that success, we secured $28 million dollars
on their behalf in the transportation reauthorization bill
for the modernization of the Commercial Driver’s License
Information System. This program has been in place since
the late 1980's and is a critical tool used by states to keep
unsafe commercial drivers off the road by ensuring that they
cannot hide their bad driving history by spreading convictions
among several states or obtaining fraudulent licenses.
