Cathy Rought works in the firm’s public relations practice, both managing and executing multifaceted public affairs campaigns for the firm’s clients and assisting with business development. Before joining the Podesta Group, Cathy most recently served as an Assistant Vice President for the Technology Division at a Washington, DC-based communications public affairs firm where she worked on a large cross-section of high-tech and telecommunications policy issues.
Cathy has also served as the Communications Director for the American Federation of Teachers-Wisconsin and as a project manager for Wood Communication in Madison, WI. She has successfully navigated a variety of organizations, including trade associations, labor unions, nonprofit groups and Fortune 500 companies, towards their public relations and policy goals.
