The US Supreme Court will rule later this month whether certain provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) are unconstitutional. The Justices have voted and are writing their opinions; everyone has a stake in the outcome of one of the most momentous cases in recent Court history.

Of the many pieces of sage advice my dad gave me when I was young, a frequent piece was: “Don’t assume anything – when you assume, you make a you-know-what out of you and me.” With apologies to my dad as we head into the Father’s Day weekend, I hope to shed some light on the future makeup of the United States Senate, particularly the Democratic leadership and committee structure.
